Oak Conservation/Sustainability
Conventional 3/8" barrel alternatives require 24 months for full extraction. Figure 1 shows potential oak waste.
Single Use
Second use is not recommended because:
- Extraction time is longer as wine initially penetrates neutralized oak.
- Flavor is diluted/inconsistent
- Contamination risk is raised.
Easy Use
Barrels: (Figure 2) links are connected to the bung.
Tanks: Infusion bags can be attached to any place in the tank. The cross-cut design precludes "nesting," covering of surface area by other pieces.
